About

My art is deeply rooted in the beauty and energy of my local surrounds in Sydney. My intention is to find the way a particular physical environment shapes the emotional experience and imagination, spawning an abstraction that conveys both an intellectual and sensual way of experiencing the landscape. The lyrical quality of the mark making, its looseness of line, and vibrant colour palette inform not only the real, but also the imagined and remembered landscape.

In addition to my exploration of Sydney's external landscapes, I also find inspiration in the intimate spaces of my own home. My interior paintings reflect a personal journey, delving into the emotions and memories associated with these private spaces. Using a bold and vibrant colour palette, I seek to evoke a sense of warmth, comfort, and familiarity, inviting viewers to connect with the universal experience of home.

Overall, my art encapsulates the intersection of external beauty and internal emotions, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of both Sydney's breathtaking landscapes and the intimate sanctuaries we call home.

Curriculum Vitae

My creative credentials were founded on a career in advertising that spanned four decades, where working alongside the most creative and inventive minds some of Australia’s most iconic ads were made. For eight years I also worked with a Fine Art Auction house based in Melbourne. The insights and ideas from these years  have contributed to my practice today. I attended private painting tuition at Studio 33 for many years and have graduated from ISCD.  I graduated from BFA at NAS in 2022 and will continue with my Masters Degree at that institution in 2024.
